Jessica (Gordon) Nelson

Wow, the last 10 years there has been alot of change. Right out of highschool I started nursing school. I graduated as a Registered Nurse in 2005. In 2003 I married Lucas Nelson from the class ahead of ours. We now have 2 little boys, Grant who is 5 and Logan is 3. We moved to Las Vegas 2 years ago. Luke is a Police Officer and I work at Mountain View Hospital as a Labor and Delivery nurse. Our new found hobby and love is racing in Triathlons and 1/2 marathons. We are working up to full marathons and Iron Man races!!

Some of my favorite memories of Pine View High are Stomps, dressing up crazy and toilet papering Davis Snow's house!!  (That was awesome girls!!) Riding on Tyler Owens scooter with Jackie Nielson. Spring break in our matching stripped shirts! SOCCER CAMP!! Man I miss those days!!

Adam Galovan

After graduation my family moved to Salt Lake, and I did a semester of school at the BYU Salt Lake Center.  While taking a mission prep class at the U of U institute (they didn’t have one at the BYU Salt Lake Center), I met my future brother-in-law.  We ended up being called to the same mission and became good friends.  I served a two year Spanish Speaking Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Arkansas Little Rock Mission.

After my mission, I spent three semesters at BYU.  Before my last semester at BYU, I went on a double date with my friend’s sister, Mandi.  We hit it off and spent the next few months talking a lot on the phone while she was at Utah State and I was at BYU.  I married Mandi Smith (from Orem) on July 15, 2005 and decided to transfer to Utah State to finish my bachelor’s degree.  Mandi graduated with a degree in Family and Consumer Science in May 2007.  In May 2008, I graduated from Utah State University as the Valedictorian of the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services with a degree in Family, Consumer, and Human Development with a Family Finance emphasis.  After graduating from USU, I attended BYU for my masters’ degree in Marriage, Family, and Human Development.  I graduated with my masters’ in August 2010.  I am currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Missouri in Columbia, with the goal of becoming a university professor.  My main research focus is on family roles and the interface between parenting, coparenting, and marriage.  At Mizzou I will also specialize in research methods and statistics.  You could say I want to be a professional nerd when I grow up.

Mandi and I are the parents of a beautiful girl, Brooke (4½), and two boys, Cameron (almost 3) and Andrew (16 months), and we are expecting our fourth child in November.  We enjoy spending time together and having fun.  The kids like to read stories, go for walks, and just hang out.  Mandi and I enjoy playing games and watching movies.  Mandi likes to try new recipes, do crafts, read fiction books and spend time with the kids.  I also enjoy reading, though Mandi often teases me for being so excited about the non-fiction books I read.  We hope to eventually be done with school (I plan to graduate in the Summer of 2013) and for me to get a “grown-up” job.

I remember a lot of good times from my high school days at Pine View.  I remember loud football and basketball games (I’ll never forget our State Champ Basketball teams), fun dances, track and cross-country practices and meets, Mr. Page, assemblies, dances, and all the good times we had.  Most of all, I remember the good friends and people I was able to associate with.  We had many great and memorable conversations, some serious and others more laid back.  I look forward to the chance we will have to catch-up at the reunion.

Seth Ure

After high school I bummed around and attended Dixie State College for a year, and then served a mission in Hong Kong China from 2002-2004.  After returning home I studied for 3 semesters at a small, private liberal arts college in Cedar City called George Wythe College.  It’s a really small college, but it was an excellent education in the classics, and I read and discussed more than I’ve ever done, before or since.  After the first semester I did summer sales for Bulwark Pest Control in Charlotte, NC.  It sucked, but the money was decent, so I did it for the next three summers as well.

When I returned to Cedar City after that first summer I met my wife, Coleen Ward (Ure), from South Jordan, UT, who was completing her BA in Business Marketing at SUU.  We dated for around 9 months, got married, and then moved to Las Vegas to manage an office and sell pest control together.  My wife outsold me on a consistent basis, which was humiliating, since I had a year of experience on her, and I was the office manager.  That fall I transferred to BYU, where I stayed for two years and received a BA in History, and a minor in Management.

Following graduation I was accepted and began attending the University of Utah in the JD/MBA program.  (Yes, that means I had to take the GMAT and the LSAT – brutal.)   The way the program works is you spend the first year in the law school and the second year in the business school.  The next two years are normally a mix of business and law.  Right now I’m living in Beijing, China, and interning for a firm called King & Wood that specializes in International Law, Foreign Direct Investment, and Joint Ventures.  After this summer is over I’ll stay here for a year and begin attending Tsinghua University to earn an International LLM in Chinese Law, (sort of like a post-graduate law degree that allows you to emphasize in a certain area of law).  After I finish here I’ll go back to Salt Lake City, finish up my JD/MBA degree, and pray that I can find a good job to pay off all of my student loans.

My wife and I have 2 children.  Ethan is about to turn 4, and Susan, (Suzy), just turned 2.  My wife was teaching water aerobics and training for triathlons until I convinced her to move to China with me, (she’s actually not here yet – she’ll be coming over with the kids in a few weeks after I get the housing and everything set up).  I’ve competed in a couple triathlons, I play the guitar when I get a chance, I like to play ping-pong, I enjoy lifting weights, and I would like to join a choir and sing if I could find the time.  My biggest problem is that I’m completely mediocre at everything I enjoy doing, but I do it anyway because its fun.  It’s sort of a catch-22.  Anyway, for anyone interested in seeing pictures of our family you can find them at www.sethandcoleen.blogspot.com.  Like many of us, I have also gained a lot of weight since high school, so be lenient with your judgments.  I sort of hide behind my wife for validation, because unlike me, she’s still hot.  I’m just doing the best I can with what I have.  I’d love to hear from people I’ve lost touch with over the years, but please, no invitations to Etsy Parties or anything like that.  You can contact me at seth_ure@hotmail.com.  Facebook is off limits in China, so if you fb me I won’t be able to respond.  I hope everyone is doing well.  Cheers.

Tammy (Twiggs) Knudsen

After graduation, I went to college for a year in Virginia.

I then went to a semester at Dixie, then a semester at SUU, and then finished up with my associates from Dixie.
I guess I liked school hopping!
While living in St. George & Cedar City I worked @ Dixie Pediatrics as a Medical Assistant.

I married John Knudsen (our fellow student, my sister in law, Cindy Knudsen's older brother) August 2003.
We stayed in St. George for school and work.
After graduating from Evans Hairstyling College, I worked in a salon for about 6 months.
I also worked at Dixie Pediatrics as a Clinical Trial Study Coordinator during that time.

We did things a little backwards as it turns out.
John built our first home in St. George, we lived there for 3 years,
but then John got accepted into Med school out here in Colorado!
So the summer of 2009, we left our beautiful house in St. George for a tiny apartment in cold Parker Colorado
& have been here since.
I really think it's a nice place to live...minus the snow of course!
I had our first little guy - Tanner - the beginning of 2009.
Had our second little gal - Addilynn - the end of 2010.
& no there will absolutely not be a 3rd for 2011 :)
My kids are my job and I love it!

Of course there are quite literally a bazillion memories from high school.
Just to name a few in no particular order:
Math with Chrissy, Mr. Nelson's class, seriously had everyone in it - so much fun - Talking with Crystal about 'our Johns' in Sports Medicine (I think that was the name of the class), Mrs. Lowe's AP English class (she got so mad at Holly and me for talking one day that she yelled at me to, "just....got talk to those books!", writing poems for Abby, Abs' vehicles...didn't your steering wheel fall off after one of the stomps??? Stomps, dances, Track - abby breaking out into song while stretching & little Kat trying to do the hurtles, Jackie dancing on the stage at grad night before everyone got in there for the big game/giveaway, the swim team growing their hair for their meets (some of my gal pals had very hair legs for a while ;), silly pranks, Senior year late night fun with so many funny people, Tif D. getting chased by ducks/geese at the pond, Mr. Page's chemistry class, boulders pool, going to Charlies, going to different friends houses for lunch...mostly Maren's, Laughing until I almost peed my pants, Tim Mcgraw, sleepovers, Never ditching seminary - can't say the same about school, the best senior trip to Mexico - 2 suburbans, 11 girls - it was awesome....and I'm going to quite now because I could go on and on really.

The reunion will be fun - Hope everyone is Happy and Well!

Kristen (Cox) Lotz & TJ Lotz

After we graduated from High School, I started my college career at the prestigious Dixie State College.  I graduated from Dixie in 2003 with my Associate of Arts degree.  Since I was waiting for TJ (he was on a mission in Orlando, FL), I conveniently decided to stay at Dixie to finish my Bachelor’s Degree.  I was accepted into their Elementary Education program and started the upper division classes in the Fall of 2003.
TJ got home from his mission in September of 2004.  Our relationship picked up right where we left off and we were engaged on Christmas Eve of 2004 and married on January 29, 2005.  In May of 2005 I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and TJ graduated from Dixie with his Associates of Science degree.  We found out a couple weeks later that we were expecting our first baby (surprise!), Kate Lynn.
We moved to Provo in August of 2005 so TJ could attend BYU.  I got a job teaching third grade in American Fork.  I only taught one year and since then I’ve been a stay at home Mom.
TJ graduated from BYU with a degree in Construction Management in December of 2008.  We had our second baby (a boy, Jonas James) in January of 2008 and we finished building, and moved into, our new house in March of 2008.  We had our third baby, Hailey Jean, in May of 2010.  TJ works as a Proposal Manager for Big-D Construction in Lindon, UT and I get to stay home and take care of our cute kids who are now 5, 3, and 1.
Some of my favorite memories from high school were hanging out with the wrestler boys and being teased non-stop by them; dating TJ; skim boarding; playing dunkball and football with TJ, Marc Fisher, Eves and who knows who else; the American Indian clas, especially the Indian coded emails from Abby L. and Marcy K., that was a big waste of time; choir trips; laying out at the lake with all the girls; the Washington Canal with Tiff Fry and Meg Lev; my piece of crap Landcruiser; football games; taking Tiff Fry to see the “Witch’s Ball” at the cemetery – she was so scared she almost peed her pants'; Physics class; playing fugitive; going to Charlie’s; dances; wrestling meets... oh man, there are just way too many memories!  I loved high school!

Samantha (Shaffer) Watson

After graduation I went to Dixe State College for an Associate's Degree in Elem. education in hopes of being a teacher someday. During my last year I was working at Steamroller Copies and met my future husband, Leland Watson. He worked at the other Steamroller in Hurricane. He is from Toquerville. We dated for about a year and he moved up to Salt Lake to go to the U, so soon after that I followed him up there. About a year later we were married in Oct 2004. We have lived in Salt Lake ever since then. My hubby got his Bachelor's Degree in Music in 2006 and began teaching Band in elementary and middle schools. As soon as he got that teaching job we decided it was finally time to have kids - finally. I have two kids, Bailey 3.5yrs and Taylor 1yr. During this whole time I have been working for Fedex Office (aka Kinkos) and now just work part time. Still to this day, I can't believe I married a band teacher :) I can't believe 10 years have already gone by since high school, but I am sure glad of what has happened in my life since then. I am loving being a mother to two beautiful and smart children and to have such a hard working husband!

My favorite memories of high school are: I was in a choir every year and senior year I was in two. Getting up early to go to Trilogy was fun, but I don't think I was ever on time. I miss Mr. Lister, he was the greatest! If I wasn't hanging in the choir room I was staying after school in the Art room, I was such a big geek! I will never forget Mr. Jones, he let me do as many pots as I wanted, and he always pushed me to go into Art in college. I remember hangin' in Mrs. Lafaele's room during lunch or whenever, she always let me even if I was ditching another class and she always had a movie on or something funny going on. I loved going to the dances, and football games and the stomps afterwards. I really enjoyed Seminary and always saw it as an escape from the high school dramas! Can't wait to hear about what everyone else has been up to, and hope everyone is doing what they love!

A month after we graduated I started Hairschool at Evans Hairstyling College.  Graduated one year later in the summer of 2002.  Shortly after decided to move to Provo.  I worked in a salon in provo and lived with Abby Taylor and some other people I didn't know.

Met Bronson Tatton a few months later.  We lived in the same apartment complex and we were in the same ward.  And he was also randomly roomates with Lacey Rynearsons brother, Scott.  We hung out here and there for a couple months and then started dating in February of 2003.  I planned on going to BYU Hawaii that coming summer but decided to stay home and get married instead.  We were married in August of 2003.

We lived in Provo, Virgina, and Orem the first 3 years of marriage and then after Bronson graduated from BYU we moved to Logan where we spent 2 1/2  years there while bronson got his masters.

We now live in Farmington, Utah.  We've been in davis county since 2008 and are hoping someday to make it back to southern utah to the sunshine:)

We have 2 boys Sam (5) and Henry 1 1/2 and a third boy due on July 15th.  We are in for it!  But we are so excited!

I have so many favorite memories from highschool I don't even know where to begin!!  I loved all the dances, Basketball games, Football games, stomps, etc.  Loved going to maren hackers house for lunch everyday!  Loved soccer and Track and choir.  Drive-by's, working at charlies, swimming at the boulders pool, the red convertible, and the green suburban, assemblies… The list could go on!  I loved highschool!!
